History
Elves are indigenous people of the eastern country who,
long ago, were immersed into the powerful slave masters role on behalf
of the demons. Their existence can be traced back to the time of the
demon hordes 50 million years ago. Now all that is left of the elven
race is believed to be living on the Dark Ark. The last of the dark
magic is being passed on through generations within the hull of the
ship.
The Dark Ark was built in the year nine, after the emperor
regained power. It was well known that the elves would be pushed out
for good during this time of transition. Under the elf queen Quat'zinr's
command, all elves did leave the mainland of the Oceans shore. By
year ten, all remaining land elves join the queen from the farthest
parts of the east. Humans still feared the power that they held, killing
those that failed to follow her. Some did escape into other dimensions,
still not returning to the new way of life in the east.
The elves, 10,000 strong in number, boarded the Dark
Ark built by the little people, forever to be cast off on the open
seas. This is all the history that is known about the past of the
elves. The rest is considered speculation and rumor today.
Rumors
It is still believed by many in the east that all elves
are evil and are only found on the Dark Ark. It is believed that magic
of the strongest kind can be found aboard that ship. Sailors have
made many reports of the ship vanishing, submerging and even guiding
huge sea creatures. Some even claim that it can fly.
All efforts to try and capture, destroy or disband the
huge vessel have failed. The elves are elusive and deadly, making
short work of the pirates that have tried to board the vessel or attack
it. Few island communities trade freely with the elves and those that
do maintain the trades are always fair. Those that have tried to stop
the trades have met with unfortunate casualties. The best have kept
their navy fleets in reserve for defense purposes only, hoping to
avoid being ocean debris in the Dark Ark's wake. It is estimated that
3000 sailors have died or have been captured by the crew of the Dark
Ark.
It is estimated that the elves take 50% of all goods
from trade routes that they cross, though this is greatly overestimated
to try to get more nations involved to stop them.
So legendary and frightening has the sight of the Dark
Ark become that many good folks fear water travel and will take alternate
modes of transportation. Only one Ark is known to exist and it has
been spotted throughout the world oceans. Some scholars believe this
is impossible and feel that there may be as many as ten in the vast
waters.
